PRO - It's Jordan Peele, so you know you're gonna get something entertaining. Whether or not it all comes together in a way that satisfies you, is out of its hands. What IS in its hands is the ability to have your eyes glued to the screen.
CON - The 'hands across America' thing didn't land well for me. It felt like a reach (pun intended)
PRO - Lupita, Lupita, LUPITA!!!!
CON - As a result of the ending, i felt that opening sequence girl should have been a little more lively, happy, into her family. It would make her coming back from the mirror room even more impactful for the mother to say "That's not my Daughter!"
PRO - The girl who played the daughter was amazing. As both little girls. Amazing transitions.
CON - Why didn't the little girl try to get out from the subways right away? After her 'other' went up, she could have escaped. It seemed a little odd at her age that she would just kinda accept her fate and blend in.
PRO - Good amount of blood. I was pleased with the deaths in this movie. They were solid horror movie deaths. I didn't feel like they held back. Obviously you can always go gorier.
CON - The twist was just 'okay'. I wasn't blown away by it and it was such a slow burn through out the movie that I hoped for an ending worth the anticipation. It wasn't BAD, it was just okay.
PRO - The more I thought about the movie afterwards the more I couldn't wait to see it again. It definitely leaves you in a position to want to catch more easter eggs along the ride.
